The Monastery Savina complex is located nearby Herceg Novi in a unique setting of the Mediterranean vegetation. It consists of two churches dedicated to the Resurrection of Our Blessed Lady, and of St. Sava church located on the nearby hill. The interior walls of Little Church of Our Blessed Lady’s Resurrection are decorated with fresco-paintings, among which the oldest ones originate from the 14th century. As a true example of a magnificent blend of Eastern and Western culture, the Big Church of Our Blessed Lady’s Resurrection was built in the late 18th century being the great mix of Byzantium, Roman-Greek and baroque styles. The St. Sava Church dates from the 13th century. Also, there are extremely important sacraments in the Treasury such as the crystal cross of St. Sava from the 13th century, a mantle from 1642, evangel from 1685, a unique portrait of the Russian Czar Peter the Great, and a library with a vast amount of medieval books.
Duljevo Monastery perches on a mountain plateau northeast of the town of Budva. The monastery was built during the reign of Serbian Emperor Dušan and is the holly place where Serbian Patriarchy Arsenije III Carnojevic entered monastic order. The monastery consists of a church and quarters for the monks’ lodging dating from the 14th century. It was designed in a characteristic fashion for small medieval churches in the Budva region.
From 17th century onwards, Ostrog Monastery has been widely known as a pure miracle build by nature and human interactions. The ancient monastery is etched in its entirety in a vertical mountain cliff. Nowadays, it is the center of Montenegrin spiritualism and a cultural heritage that is annually visited by more then a hundred thousand pilgrims from around the world and of all religions. Its cave-like chapel and monastery complex preserves the sacrilege of Saint Basil the Orthodox Saint of Miracles, St. Vasilije Ostroški.
