"At the birth of our planet the most beautiful encounter between land and sea must have been on the Montenegrin coast. When the Pearls of Nature were sown, it was with a full hand that they were cast on this soil – these were the words of the famous English poet Lord George Gordon Byron as he was depicted the outstanding natural beauty of late 19th century Montenegro. Since then, the Bay of Boka has come to be known as the “Pearl of Montenegro” and has been proclaimed one of the 25 most beautiful bays in Mediterranean Europe.

Indeed, the stunning view of the prodigious mountain heights contrasting with the azure blue of the Adriatic sea that merge as if by magic into the Bay of Boka, Europe’s southernmost UNESCO protected fjord is still today a sight to behold. At the opening to the Boka Bay, set along a hillside slope that watches over this sparkling jewel of intact nature and rich cultural heritage lays the ancient town of Herceg Novi. Only a 15 minute to half hour drive away, along the shore of the Bay are International ports in Herceg Novi, Kotor, Tivat, Zelenika and Budva, offering you the possibility to travel to Espanjola by ship or yacht. The picturesque marinas in Herceg Novi, Kotor, Budva and Bar have international status providing all the necessary marine supplies and equipment needed for water vessels of all types throughout the year.
Espanjola is also easily accessible via the Adriatic Highway linking the northern parts of Slovenian and Croatian coast with the southern part of the Albanian shore, while to the northeast, it is connected via a major road corridor to the hinterland of Montenegro and the rest of Southeastern Europe.
